November 9th, 2023 – Book Launch Day!!
What an amazing day! The day started with many friends sending me encouraging texts – wishing me luck for the day. I could feel the positive energy and looked forward to whatever the day would bring. No matter what happened, I did it!! I wrote my first children’s book, and the world was able to get a copy of a story that I had been working on for almost a year! The story of my son Andrew’s basketball journey. Around noon, I participated in a live interview by Miriam Laundry, the head of the publishing company I worked with. She and I spoke about my author journey, what I hoped the story would bring to students, and my challenges along the way. The emotions flooded in when Miriam told me that Andrew was on the call. Andrew doesn’t have a Facebook account, so I was wondering if he would be able to see the live interview. I told him not to worry because we would be seeing each other that weekend (as he’s away at college) – but he found a way to make it on the live interview posting “Hardest working mom I know”. Tears! By the end of the interview, it was certain that I had reached Amazon best seller status for all three categories – so thankful and humbled. A special thank you to my online ambassadors who spread the word and helped make it happen!
Later that evening, one of my closest friends hosted a launch party at a local brewery for me. I have posted some of the pictures from that party on this page. Again, so thankful and humbled by everyone that showed up, purchased books, and/or had me sign their books. Thank you for being there and sharing in the joy of “launch day”!
